About Suhailah
My passion for Maths comes from seeing the difference it can make to a student's confidence, opportunities, and future. I understand that many students find Maths challenging, especially those who may have struggled in the past or are preparing for a GCSE Maths resit. That's why I am passionate about helping students realise that they are capable of achieving far more than they think.
I specialise in GCSE Maths and GCSE Maths Resits, supporting students who want to improve their grades, pass their exams, and build confidence in their mathematical ability. Whether you're aiming for a pass grade, looking to move up a grade boundary, or preparing to retake your GCSE Maths exam, I provide patient, tailored support to help you succeed.
I believe that success in Maths isn't about being naturally gifted—it's about having the right guidance, clear explanations, and someone who believes in your potential. My goal is to break down difficult topics into manageable steps and create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning from mistakes.
There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a student go from feeling overwhelmed and frustrated to feeling confident and capable. Helping students achieve the grades they need to progress to college, university, apprenticeships, or their chosen career path is what motivates me every day.
For me, tutoring is about more than passing an exam. It's about helping students develop confidence, resilience, and a positive mindset that will benefit them long after their GCSEs are over.

My lessons are tailored to each student's individual strengths, challenges, and goals. I understand that every learner is different, so I take the time to identify gaps in understanding and create a learning plan that helps students make steady and measurable progress.
My teaching approach focuses on building strong foundations before moving on to more complex topics. I break down difficult concepts into simple, manageable steps and use plenty of worked examples, visual methods, and exam-style questions to help students develop confidence and understanding. I also place a strong emphasis on exam technique, helping students learn how to approach questions effectively and maximise marks.
I aim to create a calm, supportive, and dyscalculia-friendly learning environment where students never feel rushed or judged. Lessons are adapted to suit different learning styles, with concepts explained in multiple ways to ensure understanding. I believe that with patience, encouragement, and the right teaching approach, every student can make progress in Maths.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes long, although longer sessions can be arranged if required. Each lesson includes clear explanations, guided practice, independent problem-solving, and regular review to reinforce learning and build confidence.
I specialise in GCSE Maths (Foundation and Higher Tier) and GCSE Maths Resits. My lessons are suitable for secondary school students, college students retaking GCSE Maths, adult learners, and students who need additional support due to maths anxiety or dyscalculia.
My goal is not only to help students achieve the grades they need but also to help them develop confidence, resilience, and a more positive relationship with Maths. By creating a supportive and encouraging environment, I help students feel comfortable asking questions, overcoming challenges, and reaching their full potential.
