About Maria
I am a qualified native interpreter in French/Portuguese with a background in foreign languages having studied at the University of La Sorbonne. I have been teaching French/Portuguese for over 15 years. I have seen students going from low grade to grade 8 in their GCSE exam. I have tutored students with their Common Entrance exams to get into public schools. Some of them had no knowledge in French before their exam and in just three months they proved with hard work and a kind tutor that they can pass. I have tutored students from all kinds of backgrounds including adults who just wanted to learn French or Portuguese for pleasure. I teach business French/Portuguese for adults. I also offer translation and interpreting for business purposes. I am a DPSI law full member with the Chartered Institute of Linguists. I am patient and passionate about my job. I am DBS checked.

My teaching method is interactive with lots of practice. I tend to use visual aids for the students to memorise better. I also believe in role plays which can really give such a boost to students. I encourage my students to learn their vocabulary which is revised at the beginning of a lesson. I use past papers for students to familiarise with exams. This has proven to be a successful method and students can learn from their mistakes.
