About Eleanor
I’m a professional musician and play piano, oboe and I sing. Growing up, I was lucky to have three excellent teachers, and I undoubtedly wouldn’t be doing what I love now without their guidance. I would love to inspire more people to enjoy music and to nurture every student’s different talents.

My approach to teaching is friendly and flexible, suiting my teaching style to my student, whilst maintaining high standards of technique and musicianship. For younger students, games to make scales and sight-reading more fun are effective, whilst adult students sometimes prefer a more academic approach. I am open and enthusiastic and like to create an environment in which the student feels creative and able to explore and take risks.
I play regularly with the country’s leading orchestras, so am well equipped to teach to any standard, focusing on grades or on preparing for orchestral concerts, and am able to help with the oboe’s more specific needs, advising on reeds and reedmaking.
