About Laura
I am a qualified English teacher with over eight years of experience teaching and tutoring students in both the UK and international settings. I currently teach in an international school in Dubai and have a strong passion for helping students build confidence, clarity, and independence in their learning. I enjoy working closely with students to help them understand English more clearly, whether they are preparing for exams, improving their writing, or developing their language skills. I believe learning should feel supportive and motivating, and I aim to create a calm, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making progress.

My lessons are tailored to each student’s individual needs and learning style, with a strong focus on building confidence, skills, and exam technique. As a qualified English teacher with over eight years of experience, I specialise in IB (MYP and DP), GCSE, and IGCSE English Language and Literature. I am an experienced IB examiner and GCSE marker, so my lessons are closely aligned with assessment criteria and mark schemes.
Lessons are structured and supportive, combining clear explanations, guided practice, and targeted feedback. I support students with essay writing, textual analysis, exam preparation, and academic writing. I also have extensive experience working with EAL learners and am currently completing a TEFL qualification, further strengthening my ability to support students learning English as a second language.
