About Annie
With many years of classroom teaching experience, I have tackled areas of weakness identified in assessments and pushed highly able children to excel through group interventions and one-to-one sessions. These have been the most rewarding and valuable sessions for my pupils and me. I have also taught accelerated learners, ensuring that they are constantly stimulated and challenged as they proceed through the curriculum. With continuous high-quality up-to-date training in both English and maths, I have excellent understanding of the National Curriculum requirements and the latest teaching methods. As a result, I can ensure that the methods I teach comply with and complement those your child is taught at school. I am also experienced in online schooling having created a virtual classroom community during school closures. In addition to whole class live lessons, in which I adapted face-to-face methods to suit online learning, I supported children’s well-being in very challenging times through one-to-one sessions. By getting to know my pupils on a deeper level – discussing their day-to-day experiences, interests and hobbies, and supporting them with emotional challenges – I ensured that their academic progress did not suffer during this time. With this extensive experience I offer high-quality tuition to enable every child to achieve success.

I cater for primary school age children of all abilities, stretching those who are highly able with fast-paced activities and open-ended tasks, and supporting those with additional needs and those who lack confidence with clear step-by-step approaches. With a first class BA(hons) degree, a distinction at master's level, a PGCE, and almost eight years of teaching and tutoring experience, I offer high-quality tuition. My online sessions usually last an hour, in which I provide targeted tuition to support children in areas of the curriculum where they need extra help and stretch them in areas where they require more challenge. I use my creativity and ability to think outside the box to create a variety of engaging, interactive activities tailored to suit your child's needs. By employing themes and activities that spark their interests I inspire them to achieve their ambitions. Applying patience and understanding, I ensure that children feel a sense of well-being during my sessions and develop a love of learning in a safe and supportive environment. It is important for children to learn at their own pace, whether that means pushing them on at pace or allowing them more time in certain areas. In this way I always make sure they are on track for the best results possible. I have the highest standards for myself and my pupils, who have gone on to exceed expectations in Year 6 SATs and secure places at highly selective schools. The children I teach feel supported, are more confident and have fun, while most importantly achieving success.
