About Giuliana
I am a highly qualified Biology and Science teacher, passionate about supporting students to achieve their goals. With over 13 years of experience in the classroom at a number of leading schools in Scotland, and in various leadership roles, I have an in-depth understanding of the Scottish curriculum and the skills and techniques students need to excel. My dedication to enhancing students’ learning has led me to author a Hodder Gibson BGE Science textbook and take on the role of SQA Marker. I bring valuable insights into exam techniques and assessment standards, giving my students a strong advantage. My background as a Leader of Wider Achievement and STEM allows me to make Science accessible and exciting, helping students build confidence in their abilities. My time as Principal Teacher of Pastoral Care and years of professional learning have given me the tools to help pupils overcome barriers to learning such as ASN, neurodiversity, anxiety, exam stress and more. It has also allowed me to support pupils through the UCAS process, prepare for entrance examinations and encourage pupils to realise their strengths and celebrate their successes. My love of learning extends beyond the classroom, with me teaching myself wheel-thrown pottery and gaining an HND in jewellery design and silversmithing. I believe that learning is a lifelong pursuit and I am passionate about supporting others on their learning journey.

Having taught pupils from all backgrounds, from Primary 6 to S6, from BGE Science all the way to SQA Advanced Higher Biology, I have the unique ability to adapt and tailor learning to meet the needs of a huge variety of learners. I believe in creating a calm and structured learning environment where every student feels supported and encouraged. I set high academic standards while delivering engaging and effective lessons and have a track record of high learner attainment and enjoyment. Lessons are usually an hour in length, but can be tailored to your needs. I provide 1-1, or small group sessions. In addition to traditional SQA exam preparation and support, I am also experienced at supporting the Primary-S1 transition phase, enhancing STEM engagement and CREST Award delivery. Finally, I am able to offer support and mentoring to PGDE applicants, students and probationer teachers. Whether you/your young person needs help enhancing grades, preparing for SQA exams, or simply gaining confidence in Biology and Science, I offer tailored tutoring to meet everyone's unique needs.
