About Tamara
Hi, I’m Tamara. I’m a PhD candidate in Neuroscience at Weill Cornell Medicine with a strong academic background in biology and the life sciences. I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical and Therapeutic Neuroscience from the University of Oxford, where I graduated with distinction, and a Bachelor’s degree in Neurobiology from Northwestern University, where I graduated summa cum laude. I have experience tutoring middle and high school students in one-on-one biology settings and supporting learners with ADHD, dyslexia, and dyscalculia. I’m patient, responsive, and committed to helping students feel confident asking questions and engaging critically with the material.

My biology lessons are structured, personalized, and focused on building deep understanding rather than memorization. I begin by identifying gaps in a student’s knowledge, then introduce concepts clearly at a conceptual level before moving into details, visuals, and targeted practice questions. Lessons are adapted to each student’s learning style, pace, and academic goals. I work with middle and high school students across American, IB, and IGCSE curricula, including students preparing for exams or seeking ongoing support. My goal is to make biology approachable, engaging, and manageable, while helping students build confidence and strong study strategies that extend beyond a single course.
