About Susie
I am a recent biological sciences masters graduate with a love of teaching. This passion began in Senegal, where I spent a year in secondary school teaching English. Today I've continued this through tutoring high school biology, running sustainability workshops in schools with UCL Roots and Shoots and working as a habitat surveyor for Operation Wallacea. This position required taking groups of 16-18 year old students into the Indonesian rainforest to teach about field techniques, carbon storage and conservation. In total I've tutored roughly 25 students through their high school exams.

My style of tutoring is all about sparking a curiosity in my student. A student who is interested in the subject will do better, and someone who does well in an exam will enjoy the subject more. Discussion, reading relevant articles and thinking in depth around the subject feature heavily in my lessons. This way the key exam technique and knowledge is learnt in a stimulating and engaging fashion. I am also a strong believer in practicing exam questions from the beginning.
