About Elakiya
Hi, I'm Elakiya! I am a part-time tutor with a MSci in Chemistry. My experiences have taught me how to tackle one problem at a time, and I believe that using this approach—paired with my unconventional examples that force students to think outside the box—I can truly provide an excellent understanding and explanation. I am aware that the current global circumstances have raised a lot of questions for students and parents alike, and I hope that I can provide some help with continuing students' learning and studying during these uncertain times. I am a private tutor with over five years of experience and a proven track record of improving the knowledge, skills, progress and attainment of my students. My teaching style is designed around you and your individual learning needs. I would work with you to design a bespoke learning programme to get you the qualifications you need. I will help you build confidence by using my knowledge of what examiners are looking for. During the lesson I use many strategies and styles to create a stimulating and enjoyable learning experience. I use teaching styles which match the learner's learning style. I can give techniques and tactics and shortcuts to important information which would save a lot of time during the exam, because the new A-levels are not recalling information anymore it is more of understanding and applying their knowledge, which is the key skill that I have. I always check if my students have understood the topic by providing additional questions which I prepare myself on the spot, making sure they understand the topic first, so therefore they can answer exam questions. As their homework I would provide them with exam questions at different difficulty.
