About Sebastian-Benedict
I have been playing the piano for fourteen years.
I was born in Rome and moved to London at an early age. I officially started playing the piano at 5, though there was always a piano in my house. When I was 13, I was scouted to audition for the Centre for Young Musicians, a junior department of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. I proceeded to study at CYM for 5 years (with Francis Reneau as my piano teacher) where I had opportunities to compete in competitions, play in/with orchestras and much more.
At 18, I auditioned for the GSMD, where I study now under Katya Apekisheva.

My lessons are adapted to balance the pianistic needs of my students with the overall goals of what my students wish to achieve so that they can leave with a healthy relationship with the piano and a sense of fulfilment.
This means that, where needed, the focus in a lesson may be on more technical aspects of the piano or may shift to the interpretative nature of playing music.
My goal in a lesson is to guide my student to improve pianistically and as a musician and adjust accordingly to what they personally want to achieve.
