About Tom
I'm Tom, a CNC machinist turned engineering lecturer based in Portland, Dorset. I started my career as an apprentice and worked my way up over 10 years through precision engineering, aerospace manufacturing, and stone machining. I moved into FE lecturing because I genuinely enjoy helping people understand how things work — especially students who learn better by doing than by reading. I know what it's like to struggle with the gap between theory and practice, and that's what I try to bridge.

I've spent over 10 years working as a CNC machinist across aerospace, precision engineering, and stone manufacturing, and I now lecture in engineering at college level.
