About Amanda
I am an experienced tutor who provides comprehensive English literature and language tuition. Inspiring confidence through specific tools, techniques and strategies that ensure you know you are prepared for both your homework and exams. Progress is achieved through consistent and targeted practice, based on an overall plan to achieve your academic goals. We will work in partnership to improve your knowledge, skills and exam technique. I am experienced in teaching students with special educational needs and will tailor your lessons to your learning styles and preferences to optimize your progress.

My lessons are typically 60 minutes. Before the first lesson I schedule a complimentary telephone assessment to gain an understanding of the key goals and priorities of the student. I assess educational history, learning style, learning preferences, special educational needs and relevant school records, reports and test results. I schedule an initial lesson to establish an agreed learning plan with the student to ensure we set timely, achievable goals.
I have over 11 years experience tutoring on a one to one basis with students ranging from primary through secondary and 6th form college. I teach 11+, GCSE and A Level exam curriculum, technique and study skills.
In addition to online and in person tutoring I teach in the special educational needs department of a private secondary schhol and 6th form college. I hold a bachelors degree and masters degree. I can provide current teaching references upon request.
