I'm a flexible teacher with extensive knowledge in various areas. I can structure lessons around specific target areas, but will always adapt to the interests of a motivated student.
I truly believe that learning a language should be fun! The world around you will open up day by day, as you can understand and engage with people in new ways.
I've taught adults for most of my LINC career, at various levels, but mostly at intermediate and upper-intermediate. I've also taught an Enhanced Language Training course for internationally-educated medical professionals. I taught English and lived in Osaka, Japan for four years in the 2000s, which forced me to learn practical language skills and cultural competency in a new country, which has given me a great deal of insight into the challenges faced by those settling down abroad.
I love going beyond the material and explaining concepts in interesting and relatable ways. There is a certain beauty in language that is sometimes overlooked when in a learning environment, but I promise that I always keep the "art" in language alive.
