Teaching Methodology: The "Native Speaker" Approach
My primary goal is to move students beyond rigid textbook grammar and help them achieve natural, fluid communication. I believe that English is a living language, not just a subject to pass in school. My approach focuses on:
Accent & Intonation: deeply analyzing how native speakers talk to improve pronunciation and reduce stiffness.
Confidence Building: Creating a safe environment where students are encouraged to make mistakes and learn from them, ultimately overcoming the fear of speaking.
Real-world Application: Teaching idioms, slang, and natural phrasing that native speakers actually use, rather than "robot English."
Lesson Structure & Activities
My classes are designed to be dynamic and highly interactive. I strictly avoid boring lectures. Instead, students actively participate through:
Presentations & Public Speaking: Regular mini-presentations to build stage presence and articulation skills.
Learning through Music: Analyzing lyrics and singing to understand rhythm, rhyme, and cultural context.
Interactive Exercises: Role-playing scenarios, debates, and impromptu speaking drills to sharpen quick thinking.
Note: Lessons are typically 1 to 1.5 hours long (adjustable based on needs), ensuring enough time for both instruction and practical performance.
Qualifications & Experience
I bring a track record of academic excellence and practical performance experience to the table:
Proficiency Level: C1 Advanced English Speaker (CEFR standards).
Academic Record: Consistently achieved A+ grades in English assessments.
Competitive Experience: An active and decorated participant in Debates and Public Speaking competitions. I know exactly what judges and examiners are looking for in terms of oral proficiency.
Target Audience
My lessons are specifically tailored for Secondary School students:
Levels: Form 1 to Form 5.
Focus: Whether the student is preparing for oral exams (SPM Speaking) or simply wants to improve their social conversational skills, I tailor the difficulty to match their current level.
