About Lewis
Hi, I’m Lewis! I’m currently working as an English teacher at a college. Outside the classroom, I’m very creative and active. I enjoy climbing and bouldering, play both the cello and piano, and regularly perform in musical theatre! I’m also a passionate writer and am currently working on a fantasy novel that I plan to publish next year. Alongside this, I enjoy learning languages and am currently studying Korean and Mandarin.
I’ve been working as an English Language teacher at a college for almost two years now, and I really enjoy helping students feel more confident and successful in their learning. I have a strong understanding of the AQA syllabus and am proud to have a high pass rate with my classes. Alongside this, I spent three years teaching ESOL at the college, supporting learners from a variety of backgrounds, and I’ve also tutored GCSE English Language both one-to-one and in small groups outside of lessons. At the moment, I’m in the final year of my PGCE and am on track to qualify in July 2026, which has been a great opportunity to keep developing my teaching skills and try out new ideas in the classroom.

I know the AQA English Language specification extremely well and focus on clear, simple strategies that help students pass without making things confusing. I also have lots of experience working with SEND students from a range of backgrounds.
My lessons are fun, relaxed, and encouraging, and I love building strong rapport so students feel comfortable and confident approaching exams on their own. My main focus is helping students learn what they need for the exam while building independence and confidence for exam day.
I mainly work with students who are working towards a grade 4, but am happy to help students wanting to achieve grades in the higher categories.
