About Sarah
I graduated from Sarah Lawrence College in May this year with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Language and Culture.
I have four years of professional tutoring experience. Last year, I was the Italian tutor for my school where I helped students in the Beginning Italian course by explaining difficult concepts to them both in person and online.
I have also worked as a private tutor in ESL. I tutored two Korean children, beginning and advanced levels by creating my own lesson plans and adapting the classes to their needs. I also am a certified Hallo English tutor and enjoy working on online platforms with students of all ages and backgrounds.
I also have experience working with children who have learning differences as I worked with a high school student who had issues keeping himself on schedule, so I helped him stay on track with his homework and create a functional plan for himself.
I also worked as a Peer Mentor for incoming first years, a job for which I cofacilitated two online classes, one with the Dean of Studies at my college.

When tutoring or teaching, the most important aspect is that the lessons are student-centered. I find that asking the student what they feel is helping them and getting direct feedback is the best way to keep students engaged in the material especially when relating subjects to their areas of interest.
I teach beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels with focus on any kind of focus: grammar, writing, vocabulary, or conversation. During my lessons, I focus on analyzing the student's level and adjusting my lessons accordingly, including playing educational games and reviewing informational according to the student's interests.
