About Andy
I take my experiences of teaching and art making into my tutoring sessions. Learning about film should be fun and inspiring. I believe in guiding and empowering the students to discover the answers themselves. I create discussion based and, if applicable, mutli-media sessions where authentic discussion is key and the students' interaction is an integral part of our time together. There is nothing like seeing students connect the artistic content they are interacting with in the classroom to their own lives outside the classroom.

I'm Andy! My education consisted of film practice, film history/theory, art theory, and literary theory. My undergraduate degree was in Cinema and Media Arts with a minor in English and my masters was in Film Studies. Since then I have taught courses and lectures related to filmmaking, film history, and film theory. I also am an award winning filmmaker and writer whose works have been screened at film festivals and published in magazines around the world.
With my background in both filmmaking and film studies I have a holistic and far ranging understanding of film and all of its components. I am here whether you need support with understanding complex film theory, writing a film analysis, making a short film, and much more!
I am still currently making and writing about film so I am up to date on current practices, technology, programs, and ideas.
