About Mithun
Hi, I'm Mithun, a First Class graduate from the University of Warwick, based in London. I studied abroad in Gothenburg, Sweden, which taught me to adapt, think independently, and approach problems from different angles.
I want to teach because I know how much the right support at the right moment can change everything. One-to-one tuition gives students something a classroom often can't: someone fully focused on how you learn, where you're stuck, and how to get you moving forward.

My lessons are built around the student, not a fixed script. Before anything else, I try to understand where a student is struggling and why — whether that's gaps in knowledge, exam technique, confidence, or just not finding the subject engaging yet. From there, we work together rather than me just lecturing at them.
For English, I focus heavily on close reading and analytical writing — skills that unlock both Language and Literature papers. I use real texts, past papers, and a lot of targeted written practice with direct feedback. I'm a writer myself, which means I can explain why certain techniques work, not just that they do.
For Maths, I prioritise understanding over memorisation. I'd rather a student genuinely grasps why a method works than drills it blindly and forgets it under pressure. I work through problems step by step, identify where the logic breaks down, and rebuild from there.
Lessons typically run 60 minutes.
I'm a First Class Film and Television Studies graduate from the University of Warwick with over a year's experience tutoring GCSE English and Maths through MyTutor, working with students across a range of abilities and confidence levels.
My lessons are aimed primarily at GCSE students (Years 10–11), though I'm happy to work with Year 9 students building foundations early, or those resitting.
