About Han
I’ve loved playing the flute ever since I chose to pick it up in Year 4 simply because it looked fun and it’s been a passion ever since. With over a decade of experience and extensive orchestral performance, the flute has been a constant in my life. I’ve been extensively involved in music throughout my school years, performing in orchestras, bands, and chamber groups. As Principal Flute of the King Edward’s School Symphony Orchestra, I’ve performed a wide range of orchestral repertoire, including Symphonie Fantastique, Mahler 4, Mahler 9, Beethoven 5 & 9, and played First Piccolo in The Rite of Spring. I was also formerly a flautist in the Birmingham Schools Symphony Orchestra (BSSO), further developing my ensemble and performance skills. My individual repertoire includes works such as Poulenc’s Flute Sonata, Debussy’s Syrinx, Bach’s Flute Sonata in G minor, and Mozart’s Flute Concerto in G Major, all performed to diploma-level standard. As I move on to university, I fully intend to continue performing in orchestras and ensembles, keeping music an important part of my journey.

I offer 30 minute or 1 hour flute and piccolo lessons, available both in person and online. I specialise in developing strong breathing technique, tone, and musical expression. My teaching focuses on building confidence and sound quality from the start. I’ve previously taught students working at Grade 5 level, but my lessons are open to all ages—especially those just beginning their musical journey.
