About Yogesh
I’m a finance and data analysis professional with an extensive maths background and a numerate graduate degree from the University of Cambridge . I founded and ran my own maths coaching centre where I taught higher-level maths students. What genuinely drives me is a passion for maths, teaching and seeing pupils succeed.
I have also run a chess club for children at a local school in Maidenhead, so I am experienced in engaging and managing young learners in a structured environment.
I’ve tutored my son and children of friends through their GCSEs, helping them achieve results beyond what they thought possible - by making maths clear, structured, fun and genuinely achievable. This experience also gave me in-depth understanding of exam boards, syllabus and marking scheme.
My background in finance and data analysis brings maths to life, showing students how it applies in the real world - something that clicks for many learners who previously found the subject dry or intimidating.
I specialise in GCSE maths and below, and I’m fully DBS checked.

My lessons are structured, engaging and tailored to each student. I start by understanding exactly where the child is - then build a clear step-by-step plan that builds confidence. I make maths relatable by connecting it to real-world examples - so students understand the practical application of maths to problems. The approach works particularly to help students who may find maths abstract or dry. Every lesson will include:
- Recap of previous topic
- Clear explanation of concepts with worked examples
- Practice examples tailored to their exam board
-A summary of progress and the focus for next time
I am patient, encouraging and adapt my pace to the student. I firmly believe confidence is the key to success in maths. I develop my students through positive reinforcement and encouragement - an approach that has worked not just in maths, but also in the chess club I ran at my daughter's school.
Parents receive regular updates so they are in the loop.
