About Nathania
I am a History teacher with a passion for supporting young people to achieve academic success. Coming from a disadvantaged background myself, I understand the value of education and high expectations in opening up opportunities, and I am committed to helping students build confidence and reach their potential. My academic interest lies in African and Caribbean social and cultural histories, particularly the movement of people, ideas, and belief systems across the Atlantic during the slave trade and their transformation into new forms of identity and resistance, including events such as the Haitian Revolution. I plan to return to academia in the future to pursue a PhD in History.

My lessons are carefully tailored to each of my student’s needs, whether they are aiming to secure a pass, boost their grades, or achieve top marks at KS3 or GCSE History. I focus on building both subject knowledge and exam technique, with a strong emphasis on essay structure, source analysis, and developing clear, critical arguments. Lessons are structured, engaging and supportive, helping students grow in confidence while making steady, measurable progress. Having worked in secondary schools for six years and worked as both a form tutor and pastoral lead, I understand how to motivate learners and adapt my approach to different abilities and learning styles. My aim is not just to improve grades, but to help students think like historians and succeed independently.
