About Brian
I became a good instructor when I was overseeing tutorial sessions for reading and writing courses at Simon Fraser University, and I became a good evaluator in the process as well. I conducted student evaluations and performed analysis of student work. Feedback and direction for students on an individual basis was consistently a part of this practice. All of this culminated in a learning sequence that prepared students for AP-style examinations at the university level.

My approach engages students using a Socratic approach: a discussion of texts based on close reading, and breaking down lessons to examine grammar, structure, and meaning.
If or when comprehension or usage difficulties present,writing practice or comparative content can be examined in a critical way to help students maintain a progressive course of learning.
