About Joey
I'm an A-level Psychology lecturer currently teaching at a tertiary college in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. To-date, I've taught more than 100 A-level students at the college for 2 years, utilising creative, active teaching and learning methods to stimulate interest in the subject matter. I have also mentored my students in terms of university application, where some of them have successfully been accepted into Russell Group universities in the UK.
I obtained a First Class Honours in BSc(Hons) Psychology from University College London (UCL), United Kingdom. I also obtained my Masters in Clinical Psychology from the National Science University of Malaysia. Prior to embarking on my teaching career, I used to work as a clinical psychologist in a public hospital in Malaysia, where I've treated adults and children affected by mental illnesses such as autism, depression, anxiety, to name a few.
I used to study Cambridge GCE Advanced Level (A-level) in 2013-2014, achieving an A* in Psychology, A* in Chemistry, A in Biology and A in Mathematics. I was also the recipient of the Outstanding Cambridge Learner Award – Top in Malaysia in Psychology in the November 2014 exam series.
During my free time, I enjoy volunteering for non-profit organisations to provide mental health and psychological support to the underprivileged community. I also enjoy travelling, swimming, watching Netflix, and playing the piano.

I'm a lecturer teaching CAIE A-level Psychology since 2020. As A-level Psychology requires a lot of writing practices, I will teach you how to ace the exam by highlighting certain exam techniques and providing tips for writing good essays. I'll also provide you with sample essays to help with your learning.
