About Annie
My name is Annie and I am a dedicated and experienced English tutor with over 10 years of teaching experience. I have a Master's Degree in English from the University of Toronto and am passionate about helping my students achieve their academic goals.
Throughout my teaching career, I have worked with students of all ages and levels, from elementary school to university. I specialize in English language instruction, including writing, reading comprehension, grammar, and exam preparation.
My teaching philosophy is focused on building a strong foundation of knowledge and skills that students can carry with them throughout their academic careers. I work closely with each of my students to understand their individual needs and learning styles, and tailor my teaching approach accordingly.
With a decade of experience under my belt, I have developed a keen sense of what it takes to inspire and motivate students to succeed. As an experienced English tutor with a Master's degree in English from the University of Toronto, and over a decade of experience teaching English and Literature, I like to keep things fun and engaging in my lessons! I believe that learning should be enjoyable, and I strive to create a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for each of my students, from pre-schoolers to adults.
In the past few years, I have taught at several prestigious institutions, including the University of Toronto, Centennial College, and Humber College, and I have experience with ESL, exam preparation, and academic preparation. I also recently returned from a three month stint teaching English in Mexico to both children and adults.
My qualifications speak for themselves. I hold a Masters of Education in Language and Literacy Education from the University of Toronto, as well as a TESOL certification (equivalent to CELTA) from the same institution. Additionally, I earned a BA of fine arts from NSCAD University.
My teaching style is adaptable and engaging, and I strive to create a learning environment that is both supportive and challenging. I believe that every student has the potential to succeed, and my goal is to help them unlock that potential and achieve their academic and personal goals.
