About Chris
Chris Bland is one of the leading upstarts on the London jazz scene, having studied at Leeds College of Music and Guildhall School of Music and Drama. With over 10 years of education experience, Chris’ thorough pedagogical approach has resulted in success for both beginners looking to take up an instrument up to advanced students wishing to develop their theoretical and practical facilities at university level.
He also has experience with a wide age group; previous experience includes being a music facilitator at Richmond House Prep School (ages 4-11), to leading BTech masterclasses at Leeds College of Music and tutoring on adult summer schools for Yamaha and Falmouth University. Furthermore, Chris is currently an ambassador for the National Youth Jazz Orchestra’s outreach programmes in the South East and for Yamaha.
Chris is the ideal tutor for either patiently guiding young beginners and nurturing their talent, progressing intermediate students through exams (100% ABRSM Exam rate Merit and above) or for the advanced student looking to delve seriously into complex jazz, Improvisation, harmonic and rhythmic concepts.
