Attracted by Jason's performance as well as his willingness and gentleness in sharing his observations and suggestions, I arranged my son to learn cello from Jason some 5-6 years ago. My anxiety-prone son has been at ease with Jason's relaxing and playful teaching style. Jason's thoughtful choices of pieces have also appropriately inspired and challenged my son. Personally, when I first started my cello training, the two teachers before Jason decided that because I wasn’t willing to practice outside of lessons, it wasn’t possible to enhance my skills. Thankfully with Jason, it was a different story. He actually urged me on, occasionally providing more advanced scores instead of leaving me to study the same music for years. Ultimately, I had reached grade 7, and have become more eager to learn nowadays.

Additionally, and most importantly, Jason ensures that a positive learning environment is maintained. He’s not someone to typically snap at you whenever you’ve made an error. In fact, he may even creates jokes to keep you motivated in lessons.

After dropping cello for over 30 years, I had joined Jason’s cello group class for over nearly 5 years before he moved to UK.
