About Richard
With over a decade of experience as a musician, artist, and music producer, as well releases on several record labels, I am well-placed to guide you through the process of developing your music production skills to where you're creating release-ready music.
Additionally, my experience as an educator and an accountability coach means that I can help you to develop your workflow, discipline, and focus around your music making. These skills are as important to your success as writing good melodies and getting clean mixes because they support progress in all other areas.

As your music production and FL Studio teacher, I'll help you to gain a deep understanding of the techniques you need in order to create release-ready music.
I specialise in helping beginner to intermediate music producers take the next steps in developing their unique sound.
My approach starts with your music and your musical goals. Together, we'll identify the areas that you need to focus on in order to take your music to the next level, and create an action plan with clear steps you can take, and milestones you can reach.
My philosophy is about making improvements in three main areas:
1. Developing your creative voice as an artist
2. Developing the technical expertise to execute your creative ideas
3. Developing good habits and working practises that will support your artistic and technical progress
I'll provide you with technical and creative practise exercises as well as consistent feedback on your music so that you can mark your progress and see consistent improvement.
In a typical lesson, we'll begin by analysing a piece of your music, and looking for specific improvements you can make. Next, you will learn a variety of techniques and approaches you can incorporate into your production process in order to internalise this improvement.
The next step is to practise these techniques, and we'll do practise exercises the class to build on this foundation of knowledge. Finally, you'll get the opportunity to incorporate this knowledge into your next composition. We'll start within the lesson, and you will complete a composition for homework which we'll then use to start this process again in the next lesson.
