About Alexandra
I am a 36-year-old native English speaker with 8 years of experience teaching English online. I also have a background in dance, which I studied at university, and I have worked professionally as a performer and teacher in London, including performances around the Olympic Park area and experience in theatre.
Alongside this, I have taught dance in different settings and worked in early years education in nurseries abroad, including Thailand. These experiences have strengthened my communication skills, adaptability, and ability to engage learners of all ages and backgrounds.
I am also currently learning a new language myself, which gives me a first-hand understanding of the challenges and confidence barriers involved in speaking.
I enjoy teaching and find it highly rewarding to see students develop confidence, fluency, and communication skills over time. I have extensive experience helping shy learners become more comfortable speaking through patient support and varied, practical approaches tailored to the individual.
My lessons are conversation-led and adapted to each student’s level. I focus on building speaking ability from the start, developing vocabulary naturally, and reinforcing it through regular use in future lessons to ensure retention and progress. I work best with students who are willing to participate and engage in the learning process, as active involvement is key to meaningful improvement.
