About Matt
Hi, I’m Matt, a native English tutor from Southampton, England. I’ve been teaching English for over 2.5 years and I genuinely enjoy helping adults feel more confident speaking English in real-life situations. I’m TEFL-certified (120-hour TEFL with Distinction) and also hold a specialist qualification in Teaching Business English. I work mainly with intermediate and advanced learners who already know English, but want to sound more natural, fluent and relaxed when they speak. What students often say they appreciate most is that my lessons feel natural and friendly, while still being focused and useful. I’m patient, encouraging, and I make it easy to speak without feeling judged or interrupted. Outside of teaching, I enjoy music, football, learning languages (especially Italian), and going to the gym — which helps keep lessons enjoyable and easy to talk in. The lessons with Matthew have increased my confidence in speaking English. He is an attentive, precise and kind teacher. I'm grateful to him.

And I found Matt !
In a couple of weeks, my english level improved quite fast. I stopped making my usual mistakes and I could communicate complex ideas in a smooth way.
The great thing about Matt is that the lessons are FUN ! It was an excellent balance between teaching and connecting.

Nowadays, I speak on a daily basis with native english speakers with ease (and they forget sometimes that I am french - I know hard to believe aha)
