About Ivy
Music has been a guiding force in my life for as long as I can remember. Teaching piano allows me to share that passion while helping others discover their own creative voice. I’ve worked with students of all ages and abilities, and I value every moment of watching their growth unfold. My approach is both structured and nurturing. I believe in guiding students through consistent progress while keeping lessons filled with warmth, laughter, and discovery. Each student has their own rhythm of learning, and I tailor my teaching to make sure they always feel supported. Beyond teaching, I compose and perform, constantly exploring how sound expresses emotion. These real-world experiences shape my lessons, bringing energy, inspiration, and authenticity into every class. Teaching piano isn’t just my profession — it’s my art form, my dialogue with others through music.

My piano lessons aim to build both technical strength and expressive depth. Whether you’re just beginning or exploring advanced performance, I create lessons that feel inspiring, structured, and centred on genuine musical connection. Each student learns at their own pace, developing a strong foundation while discovering the joy of creative self-expression. We start with the essentials — posture, note reading, rhythm, and hand coordination — and gradually expand into dynamics, phrasing, and artistry. I use a mix of classical and modern pieces to keep learning engaging and well-rounded. Students also learn the fundamentals of theory, ear training, and improvisation to enhance understanding and musical independence. My goal is for each student to see music as a language of feeling, not just notes on a page. Through patience, encouragement, and curiosity, I help them experience the piano as a lifelong source of confidence and inspiration.
