About Nick
I have a degree in Music Technology and I have a Diploma in Piano Performance from the ABRSM. I've worked as a professional musician and have over a decade's worth of private teaching experience. I've taken students through grades from various exam boards but I am also well equipped to teach Jazz and Blues.

I tailor my lessons to what each individual student wants to learn. If the student is after learning to pass a graded examination I am more than capable of focussing on that. If the student wants to learn just for enjoyment I try and think of what the end goal for the student is - whether it be playing a particular piece they love for example - and work backwards. If the student wants to learn jazz or blues I will start off with simple blues structures and exercises and build from there - often without the need to learn how to read sheet music. It really depends on the individual.
One thing that works really well with my current students is I make little tutorial videos at the end of each lesson that go over what was covered in the lesson and send to their emails. My current students have told me this is a great way of working
