About Sophie
I am currently studying towards becoming a commercial lawyer. I completed my English degree at Durham University in 2019 and have recently completed the Graduate Diploma in Law at BPP University. Prior to this, I achieved 3A* at A-Level in English, Geography and Religious Studies and 10A*-B at GCSE level. In September 2021 I will begin work as a Trainee Solicitor at a commercial law firm in London.
I have a variety of experience in teaching. Whilst at school as the Deputy Head of House and a Tutoring Volunteer I taught a variety of subjects, mainly Maths, English, Geography and Religious Studies, to both small groups of children and individually. After leaving school, I spent time in Goa, India, volunteering as a teacher in a small school. I covered every subject they were taught but focused on Maths and English. Since then, I have also been a private tutor to two siblings throughout their GCSE's and AS-levels.

My teaching method concerns building a relationship with my students. A comfortable and compassionate relationship means learning becomes more enjoyable, it is easier to discuss finding things difficult or things going wrong, and means I understand how my student learns and takes information in. In my experience, having a strong relationship with one tutor will always exceed numerous tutors, teachers and learning experiences outside of school.
