About Robin
I am a qualified and experienced Counselling Psychologist with a strong academic background and enthusiasm for helping students to excel and have confidence in their psychology writing. I have completed a professional doctorate in psychology, master's degree in psychology from Bristol University (distinction) and undergraduate degree in English Literature (first class). I have published my work and received a British Psychological Society prize for excellence in writing. I have expertise in every stage of academic work: planning and structuring assignments and essays; critical thinking; proofreading; researching; qualitative research methodologies; approaches to tackling larger projects such as the dissertation and thesis. I bring my clinical skills in psychology and psychotherapy to my lessons, so I can support you to gain clarity and confidence in your work. I also offer individualised feedback on personal statements for university admissions. I have many years' experience of psychology and psychotherapy work in the NHS, charity sector and private practice.

I will tailor our sessions to your individual requirements, drawing on my many years of experience in academic writing to help you tackle your university or other writing work. I have broad expertise in clinical and counselling psychology, critical approaches to psychology, counselling and psychotherapy. I am skilled in academic research and critical examination of psychology papers. I can support you to develop your skills in qualitative research methodologies, in particular reflexive thematic analysis and interpretative phenomenological analysis.
