About Katie
Hi,
My name is Katie I’m 24 and I am passionate about opening up education to all.
A little bit about my experiences which I feel make me a great choice of tutor:
- I AM A PRIMARY SCHOOL TEACHER, Having completed a Primary PGCE at Birmingham City University. I am now working as a primary school teacher, having taught in year 2 and 3. This means I have extensive knowledge of the current primary curriculum and the ways in which these topics are being taught successfully in school. I have experience working in classrooms directly, am able to provide excellent resources and real have a real insight into subject knowledge.
- I'M EDUCATED, I have a Masters from the University of Nottingham in Psychology and also have a Bachelors Degree in History from Keele. My previous degrees have given me confidence in essay writing, grammar and punctuation skills. I’m also super organised and have a lot of academic experience.
- LOTS OF EXPERIENCE, I have vast amounts of experience working with children. I worked within a secondary school as a teaching assistant. The role has given me insight into all GCSE subjects and the way they are taught. I feel comfortable in tutoring in all the main secondary subjects at KS3 and GCSE level.
- SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS, Finally I have a passion for working with children which special educational needs. Having chosen to specialise in SEN during my PGCE. I worked in a special needs school so am comfortable working with children of a variety of needs.
