About Alfie
Hi, I’m Alfie, a professional guitarist with over 15 years of playing experience on both acoustic and electric guitar. I have 8 years of teaching experience. Music has been a big part of my life for many years, and guitar is not just something I play — it’s something I genuinely enjoy sharing with others.
I want to teach because I remember how confusing learning guitar can feel at the beginning, and how important it is to have someone who explains things clearly and keeps learning enjoyable. My goal is to help students avoid frustration, build confidence, and start playing music they love as soon as possible.
I enjoy working with students of all ages and levels, whether you’re picking up a guitar for the first time or looking to improve your technique, expand your repertoire, or understand music more deeply. Every student is different, so I take the time to adapt lessons to individual goals, tastes, and learning speed.
Teaching guitar allows me to combine my experience with my passion for music, and there’s nothing more rewarding than seeing a student progress, enjoy playing, and feel proud of what they can achieve.

My name is Alfie, and my lessons are built around helping students enjoy the guitar while making clear, steady progress. I adapt my teaching style to each student’s goals, level, and musical taste, whether they want to play songs for fun, improve technique, or understand music more deeply.
I focus on a practical, hands-on approach: learning real songs, developing solid rhythm and timing, improving finger strength and coordination, and understanding chords, scales, and basic music theory in a simple, accessible way. Lessons are structured but relaxed, with plenty of time to ask questions and play.
Lesson structure and length
Typical lessons last 45 minutes, though this can be adjusted depending on the student’s needs and concentration level. Each lesson usually includes:
Warm-up and technique exercises
Song work or riffs chosen around the student’s interests
Theory explained clearly and applied directly to the guitar
Practice guidance so students know exactly what to work on between lessons
Experience and background
I am a professional guitarist with 15 years of playing experience, covering both acoustic and electric guitar. I have extensive experience playing a wide range of styles and working with musicians at different levels, which allows me to tailor lessons effectively for each student.
Who the lessons are for
My lessons are suitable for all levels, from complete beginners to advanced players looking to refine their skills. I teach children, teenagers, and adults, and I’m especially patient with beginners who may feel unsure when starting out.
My goal is to make learning guitar enjoyable, motivating, and confidence-building, while helping students achieve real musical results.
