About Simon
A professional guitarist and music producer with a passion for the life-changing benefits of playing music. Teaching from a place of real-world experience and musicianship, we will follow what brought you to learning music in the first place as I firmly believe that my students' passion and curiosity is what helps me guide their learning towards realising their musical ambitions. Whether your child is discovering the joy of music for the first time, you're an adult that has always wanted to learn or you're an experienced player who wants to take it to the next level, together we will make sure that you're achieving your music goals through fun yet structured learning.

What do you teach? Guitar As my principal instrument I have an extremely extensive knowledge of guitar performance and theory. I teach a wide range of styles including but not limited to: - Contemporary pop acoustic/electric - Classic blues/rock electric guitar, including soloing - Traditional and modern acoustic fingerstyle - Classic and progressive metal technique - Bass guitar fundamentals Logic-Pro/Music Production As an experienced producer and audio technician, I offer in-depth lessons on Logic Pro and general production technique including: - Dance music and beat making, including beat structure, sound design and composition - Post-production and home recording, helping you get the best sound possible for your music - Arrangement and compositional technique, because even the most banging techno needs good songwriting skills Will my lessons be fun? Yes! We create music because it brings us joy and, though there will be some head-scratching bits along the way, we will make sure that you always feel like you're moving towards the kind of musician you want to be and enjoying the process. Will I have to learn music theory? Yes, but just a little bit at a time I promise! Though music theory can sound like having to go to maths class instead of having fun, it will allow you to expand your knowledge much faster and, most importantly, communicate with other musicians. Music lessons seem expensive. Can't I just learn from YouTube instead? Yes but it's much less effective! Having a teacher that can structure your learning properly and give you feedback will generate much faster progress and will stop you from picking up bad habits (which are so much work to unlearn later!). I know it's expensive but I promise you that getting to create the music you love is the best feeling in the world and the investment pays off big time. My commitment to my students is that if they give me their practice time I will give them the skills to become experienced, expressive and well-rounded musicians.
