About Rebekah
I have had a varied career as a teacher of English. I have been a head of department as well as having senior whole school positions such as being the gifted and talented Co-ordinator. I have devoted the past two years to my teenagers as they have navigated their A levels and GCSEs. I have one teenager left to go through her GCSEs next year. I plan to continue tutoring, having taught since I left university 28 years ago. I enjoy the freedom to walk my dogs, enjoy my hobbies and work when I want to. I have written some teenage fiction and loved the process.

I provide a scaffolded lesson depending on the individual’s needs. I can ascertain this both in the initial introduction session and throughout the progress of lessons. I find it best to spend time teaching skills, providing examples and then working together on a piece that practises the skills required. If appropriate I will set a small piece of work to do independently and submit prior to the next session. I am also happy to work with small groups which offers more interactive learning opportunities. These sessions will last for 90mins to account for this.
