About Kevin
I am a successful science teacher with over 30 years of experience teaching in New Zealand secondary schools. In that time I have taught from Year 9 Science to assisting numerous students to achieve Scholarship Biology. Although recently retired I am still a registered teacher who continues with some relief teaching. I have also worked for NZQA since 2004 marking or leading NZQA L1 Science and L2 and L3 Biology assessments (exams).

I believe that all students can achieve success and modify my teaching style to assist this goal. Lesson length is typically one hour. Registered NZ teacher who has successfully taught: * Science (Years 9 - 11) * Biology (Years 11 -13, including Scholarship) * Physics (Years 11 - 12) I have also worked for many years as a community education tutor teaching science, photography, and computing. I have worked for NZQA since 2004 in the following roles: * Marker - L1 Biology (Genetics), L2 Biology (Cells) L3 Biology (Human Evolution) * Panel Leader - L1 Biology (Microorganisms); L3 Biology (Speciation) 2 years, L3 Biology (Human Evolution) 6 years A panel leader controls the marking panel for a subject, develops an appropriate marking schedule, ensures that marking is consistent, etc. With my teaching experience and working for NZQA I have not only excellent knowledge in senior Biology, but the understanding to allow students to achieve highly in NCEA assessments.

Perfect! Kevin has a good knowledge of the curriculum and is very methodical in the way in which he teaches.

Perfect! Kevin has been an excellent tutor for my Year 12 daughter. He’s been available at short notice, communicates clearly, and has helped us feel confident heading into exams next week.
With his NCEA experience, Kevins assessment and tutoring approach has really helped identify key areas for improvement and guided us to where we need to be. My daughter has also really enjoyed the lessons.

He is reliable and flexible with teaching methods to suit Lyla's learning style often going the extra mile to provide information outside the lesson times.
