About Husain
I am a Senior Leader for Teaching & Learning and Head of History & Politics with extensive experience teaching GCSE and A-Level students.
I am passionate about helping young people succeed, not only in their examinations, but in reaching the sixth form, college and university choices they aspire to. I want students to leave tuition more knowledgeable, confident and intellectually independent.
For me, History is not 'fixed', nor is it a catechism of facts to be memorised. Students should learn to question, interpret evidence, recognise competing explanations and understand why interpretations of the past differ.
Similarly, Politics is about more than learning institutions, processes and examples. I want students to understand the ideas and debates that underpin political systems, engage critically with competing arguments and use their knowledge to develop well-reasoned judgements of their own.
Ultimately, I tutor because I enjoy helping students think more deeply, achieve academically and open up the next stage of their education. My approach is supportive and encouraging, while maintaining high expectations for every student.

I am a Senior Leader for Teaching & Learning and Head of History & Politics with extensive experience teaching GCSE and A-Level students.
My approach in History and Politics focuses on three essential areas: secure substantive knowledge, strong conceptual understanding and precise exam technique. I help students develop the depth of knowledge needed to analyse and evaluate effectively, make connections across their course and construct sophisticated arguments.
I hold specialist qualifications in teaching and learning and have undertaken extensive examiner training. I have also consulted with Pearson Edexcel on specification updates, providing further insight into curriculum and assessment. While I have extensive experience with Edexcel, I am also familiar with other major exam boards and tailor tuition to each student’s specification.
