About Jacob
I’m a relaxed, friendly tutor who believes learning should be enjoyable as well as effective. Outside of teaching, I love going to the gym, playing guitar, and exploring new cultures — passions that keep my lessons energetic and creative. I studied History and Spanish at the University of Bristol, and my love for Spanish has only grown since living in Guatemala and Colombia and travelling throughout Latin America. I bring real cultural insight, natural conversation practice, and a sense of humour to my lessons, aiming to inspire the same enthusiasm for Spanish and Latin culture in my students that first inspired me.

As a History and Spanish graduate from the University of Bristol with experience teaching English abroad, I bring an encouraging, engaging, and personalised approach to tutoring. I believe languages are best learnt through communication and confidence-building, not memorisation alone. My lessons are tailored to each student’s goals — whether improving conversation, grammar, exam skills, or simply rediscovering a love for Spanish. I focus on creating a relaxed, positive environment where mistakes are part of the learning process and progress feels natural. Having lived and volunteered in Guatemala and Colombia, I also share cultural insights and real-life Spanish to make the language come alive.
