About Chandler
I’m a passionate STEM educator with degrees in Biology, Biochemistry, and a master’s in Education focused on Instructional Design. For over a decade, I’ve taught and tutored students from elementary through college in math, chemistry, and science - helping each learner find confidence and curiosity in the process. My experience includes classroom teaching, individualized tutoring, and leading STEM programs at OMSI and Portland State University. I love seeing students move from frustration to “I’ll teach you” moments - when understanding becomes confidence and learning becomes something they’re proud to share. I believe learning should be engaging, encouraging, and empowering, and I strive to make every lesson feel that way.

When I first start working with a student, I take time to learn about their classes, study habits, strengths, and challenges. Understanding what they enjoy, where they get stuck, and how they approach learning helps me design a structure that truly fits them.
Each session begins with a quick check on organization and goals, followed by identifying two or three focus areas for that day. I use real-life examples and step-by-step methods—often using the student’s own language—to make new concepts clear, approachable, and easy to remember.
We work through problems together until they can apply the steps on their own and explain why their solution works. I also revisit past material through short reviews or integrated examples to strengthen retention and build lasting confidence.

Chandler was such a great teacher to work with for my college chemistry course.
