About Keanan
Hello, my name is Keanan Moodley, and I am a Bachelor of Education student with practical teaching experience in primary school classrooms. I am passionate about helping learners grow academically, develop confidence in their abilities, and achieve their educational goals in a supportive and encouraging environment.
Through my teaching practice, I have worked with learners of different abilities and learning styles, allowing me to develop a flexible and learner-centered approach to education. I understand that every student learns differently, and I tailor my lessons to meet individual needs, ensuring that concepts are explained clearly and effectively.
My teaching philosophy is based on patience, encouragement, and active participation. I strive to make lessons engaging, interactive, and enjoyable while maintaining high academic standards. I believe that learning should not only improve grades but also build confidence, independence, and a genuine interest in education.
I offer support in a variety of primary school subjects, including Mathematics, English, Life Skills, Social Sciences, and Natural Sciences. I am a Bachelor of Education student with practical teaching experience in primary school classrooms. My approach to tutoring is learner-centred, supportive, and focused on helping each student reach their full potential. I believe that every learner is unique, so I adapt my teaching methods to suit individual learning styles, strengths, and areas for improvement.
My lessons are interactive, engaging, and designed to build both confidence and understanding. Rather than simply giving answers, I guide learners through concepts step by step, encouraging critical thinking, problem-solving, and independent learning skills. I use a variety of teaching strategies, including visual aids, examples from everyday life, guided practice, and educational activities to make learning meaningful and enjoyable.
I am proficient in English and can also provide support in Afrikaans where needed. My goal is to create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes as part of the learning process.
A typical lesson begins with a review of previous work, followed by clear explanations of new concepts, guided practice, and opportunities for learners to apply what they have learned independently. I regularly assess understanding throughout the lesson and provide constructive feedback to help students improve.
My lessons are primarily aimed at primary school learners who require support in subjects such as Mathematics, English, Life Skills, Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, and other foundation and intermediate phase subjects. Whether a learner needs help catching up, preparing for assessments, strengthening fundamental skills, or extending their understanding, I tailor lessons to meet their specific goals and academic needs.
