About Caitlin
Hi, I’m Caitlin! I am an experienced educator and curriculum specialist with postgraduate education and professional experience in classroom teaching, resource development, educator training and territory-wide education programming.
Throughout my career, I have worked with students, families, teachers, schools and community partners. This has taught me that effective learning is never one-size-fits-all. Children make the most progress when they feel comfortable, understood and genuinely capable—not when they feel pressured or embarrassed.
I am also a parent, so I understand how stressful homework and learning challenges can become for the whole family. My goal is to provide calm, dependable support while helping each student strengthen their skills and become more independent.
I am organized, patient and encouraging, and I take the time to prepare lessons that reflect each student’s level, interests and goals. Parents can expect clear communication, professional preparation and honest feedback about their child’s progress and next steps.

My tutoring approach is patient, practical and tailored to the individual child. I begin by identifying what the student already understands, where they are getting stuck and what helps them feel confident. I then break learning into manageable steps using clear explanations, examples, visuals, guided practice and repetition when needed.
A typical lesson begins with a relaxed check-in and a quick review of previous learning. We then focus on one or two specific goals through direct instruction and interactive practice. The lesson finishes with an activity the student can complete successfully, a review of what they learned and clear next steps.
I work with elementary students who need support with reading, literacy, writing, school assignments, organization or general homework. Lessons can reinforce classroom learning, help close skill gaps or provide additional challenges based on the student’s needs.
As an experienced teacher and curriculum specialist, I understand how learning skills develop and how to adapt instruction when the first approach does not work. I create a supportive, encouraging environment where students can ask questions, make mistakes and build genuine confidence without feeling rushed or judged.
