About Mark

I am a practising teacher of 25 years experience and have been tutoring for the last three years. I have tutored eight students so far, two at A level and the rest GCSE. All my students have seen their confidence increase and all have eventually achieved their target grades.

About the lesson

With individual students I base my tutoring around past exam questions. The student will choose a topic they wish to work on and, after a brief period of revision in during which we make sure the student understands the main concepts within the topic, we launch into the exam questions. First I will model an answer or two, then do a few questions together and finally the student will attempt questions unaided, after which we study their answers with respect to the mark scheme and examiner's report. I strongly believe that, since our aim is to increase exam marks, that tuition should largely consist of time tacklimg exam questions.

Having said all the above, I am more than happy to adapt my approach to suit individual students if they feel an alternative style would suit them better.
