I learn advanced Talmud with Carmel remotely, and he is a great chavrusa (learning partner) / teacher. He is fluent , knowledgeable, and analytical. He also is careful with grammar, which is rare for a chavrusa. I highly recommend him.

I started reading Torah with Rabbi Carmel as a beginner student of biblical Hebrew, and he has been such a helpful guide in my learning over the past several months.
He is clearly very knowledgeable across many languages and traditions, and explains biblical and rabbinical concepts extremely thoroughly. I leave every lesson feeling intellectually supported and satisfied, and I believe our studies have contributed a great deal to my learning. I recommend him highly to any student looking for a serious tutor in Judaism and Hebrew.

Studying with Carmel is most satisfying. My notes from each session have led to both a weekly , listed growing vocabulary as well as continuing discussions as to word and concept meanings for each passage of Torah.

To date, I've gotten much more out of our sessions than I initially imagined possible.

I am currently working with Rabbi Carmel in studying / learning how to learn Halacha (Jewish Law) in the Talmud. This is in both Hebrew and Aramaic.

The ability to give understanding and insight that Rabbi Carmel is able do are skills that are very rare to find in a tutor and I highly doubt any other tutor on SuperProf would have these abilities.

I also worked with Rabbi Carmel to fine tune my Hasidic Ashkenazi Hebrew (which is very unclear if you try to learn pronunciation from online sources). Rabbi Carmel also has in depth knowledge of how different intonations and emphasis on syllables change while reading Hebrew changes amongst different groups.

I highly recommend utilizing the help of Rabbi Carmel for anything Jewish, Judaism, or Israel related.
