About Edd
I am an experienced, classically-trained musician recently graduated with a BMus (Hons) degree. I have been playing music since the age of five across a variety of instruments, including piano, drums and French horn, and have gigged extensively, from storied venues and festivals in the UK and Europe (Boardmasters, Wide Awake, Radio 1's Big Weekend, Best Kept Secret, Syd For Solen), to live on-air BBC Radio sessions at Maida Vale and French television (ARTE).
Teaching is a natural progression for musicians and I love it as both a way of keeping up my chops and sharing what I've learned, but also learning from students, such as what music they like and what inspires them. The beautiful thing about music is it is collaborative and teaching music is no different.

I'm a firm believer in learning what you love - we can drill scales and the boring stuff, but let's make sure you're playing what you WANT to play, not what you think you SHOULD play.
You don't become a better writer by only reading the dictionary. We all pick up an instrument for a reason and keeping sight of that is so important - I've studied music for long enough now to know that the learning process can often disregard our love of the music itself.
So yes, while we can cover fundamentals - scales, theory etc. - I want to know what you like and how we can incorporate that into your lessons and progressing YOU as a musician.
