About Erika
I’m Erika, and I’m passionate about making science fun and easy to understand! With a background in Medicinal Chemistry and Translational Oncology from Trinity College Dublin, I know firsthand how exciting and rewarding science can be. I’m here to show you that science isn’t just about memorizing facts—it’s about discovering how the world works and having fun while doing it. Whether you're struggling with tricky Biology or Chemistry topics, or just want to get ahead and ace your exams, I’ll tailor every lesson to your needs. If we need to go over the basics, we’ll do that, and if you’re ready for more challenging material, I’ll help you tackle it with confidence. I believe that everyone can succeed in science, and my goal is to make it feel less like a chore and more like an adventure. I’ve worked with kids through Barretstown and science workshops at Trinity, so I know how to make learning interactive and enjoyable. I’m always ready to listen and adapt, so if there’s something you’re struggling with, I’ll work with you until it clicks. As a tutor, my approach is flexible and tailored to each student's unique learning style and needs. I believe in going back to the basics if necessary to ensure a solid understanding of key concepts, and I’m happy to work on coursework or exam questions, depending on what the student requires.
Each lesson typically lasts an hour, where we focus on building comprehension, practicing problems, and strengthening study techniques. I encourage students to let me know a day or two in advance what they’d like to cover so I can prepare the material accordingly.
With a Bachelor’s in Medicinal Chemistry and a Master’s in Translational Oncology, I bring a deep knowledge of Biology and Chemistry. I’m passionate about making science engaging and accessible, particularly for younger students, and I am experienced in adapting my teaching style to make challenging concepts easier to grasp.
I aim to make each lesson not only productive but also enjoyable. I understand that science can be tough, but I work hard to make it fun and help students build confidence in their abilities.
