About Blue
I am a sophomore Honors Graphic Design Student at Drexel University and my essay writing skills helped get me here. I've had A's in all my classes, even through college, and I put my all into my work. I don't have much experience with face-to-face tutoring but I have proofread and helped to revise many essays for friends, family, and peers of different grade levels. With my tutoring, I will help improve essay writing skills by going through your essays with you, explaining how you can improve them, and answering any questions you may have about the process. I can also help with special essays, like college admissions essays, to make them an amazing representation of you to hopefully help your chances of getting into your dream school! I also have many skills in the visual arts. I was an IB Arts student in High School and my portfolio got me into multiple art schools. I can help any IB Visual Art student navigate the complicated process of putting together their portfolio and painting their work to be the best it can be.
I don't have any formal experience or training with tutoring but I have many a time been the designated proofreader for my peers, friends, and family. Everyone came to me to read through their work and help them improve it as I could explain where things were going wrong and how to change it. I've gotten all A's in my writing classes and have helped multiple people improve their special college essays to boost their admissions to their colleges

Since proofreading and helping to write essays is my forte, I would start with some introductions and ask the student where they think they are struggling with their essay writing. We can discuss those issues and I will read through their work to see where there are any inconsistencies with what they're saying or where other issues may be present. If the student wants to, we can go through their work together and I can explain where they may want to change things. Additionally, we can work together to improve their skills with things like grammar, spelling, and punctuation if they decide they need some extra help from me.

Details
I charge $20 to proofread an essay without meeting with me via Zoom to discuss it. Students can send me a Google Doc of their essay and I will proofread and suggest edits to their work. I always leave thorough comments and try to explain why edits should be made. If I have any questions I give the student a chance to clarify and I will proofread it a second time at no charge with those ideas in mind.
If a student would like to meet with me via Zoom to discuss their work face to face I charge an additional $15 for an hour-long chat. There I give the opportunity to ask questions or clarify further and we can discuss some writing conventions as well. I would suggest that anyone looking for help on special essays like college admissions essays schedules a meeting to discuss it either before or after I've proofread it as essays like that tend to be both more important in the long term and more personal and may need more explanation.
If a student wants to have a lesson in writing conventions I charge $25 per hour of tutoring. I suggest students come to me with the conventions they are struggling with in mind as well as some materials they can work on at home. If you don't have something like a workbook or worksheets with you at home, please let me know and I can find some for you to print.
