About Jim
I program pronunciation assessment software to help English learners with intelligibility remediation.
The intellectual challenge and feeling from helping so many learners.
I've been a tutor since high school, and have done general education, technical computer science, and English as a second language tutoring one-on-one.
I studied statistics and computer science at Carnegie Mellon University in the 1980s, and have continued on a technical career path. I sucessfully released a speech recognition-based pronunciation intelligibility remediation system to a company with 33 million students, and have been more or less coasting since then looking for the next step.

I'd like to start with a 10-30 minute phone call describing their overall goals for learning Python skills, and the immediate problems they have been encountering which have caused them to seek a tutor.
Mostly adults, including ESL and native English speakers. I've been trying to focus on Python learners for the last few years.
Make sure you enjoy speaking with them and screen-sharing with them on a teleconference application.
