About Briana
I have previously tutored students of color that have been either involved in the D.C. court system or have experienced disciplinary action from school. This being said, I have learned how to adapt and cater to different learning styles while keeping a holistic outlook on each child. I am patient, compassionate, diligent, and trustworthy so that students feel empowered and motivated.
I was a tutor in high school and then the passion followed to college where I tutored SAT and GED Math and English along with History, English, and other social science/liberal art disciplines.
I am currently a Senior at Georgetown University majoring in Sociology and minoring in Economics. I am receiving my degree in May. I have also tutored students for two years at a program in my school's Center for Social Justice called the After-School Kids (ASK) Program.

I like to learn about their background and who they are as a person individually. What are some of their passions, interests, and hobbies and then align those with the content we are working on. Additionally, I like to talk to them about mental health and what issues they are encountering when it comes to the work that they need help with.
I have worked with mostly Black and Latinx students who are low-income or not economically privileged. I have worked with students who have some previous challenges and experienced some PTSD. I also worked with students who have been academically successful but had a period where they were unmotivated and needed guidance.
